Cabbie & Dim Sum

We had planned to go and watch the Chinese New Year parade in Chinatown so it made sense to go for something to eat in the area before it all started. We caught a cab as we were a little late and our cabbie (the first picture) was very enthusiastic about the route he was going to take us – and went on to describe with lively hand gestures.

We went to Pings Seafood, a rather authentic Chinese Dim Sum restaurant that was full of character, although the food wasn’t fantastic. Dishes were brought round to the table and you were allowed a yes or no response. Pretty fun but they didn’t quite understand that we weren’t that interested in the chicken feet.
